The leadership of Christ Community recently shared exciting news with the congregation about the future of our worship service location, the Dickson Theater. In the fall, the Theater will be torn down, and construction will begin on a new building, called the Lumiere. The Lumiere will be home to August & Louie, a new independent movie theater. (Click here and here for more information.) After construction is complete, the Lumiere will serve as Christ Community Church's permanent home for our Sunday worship services.
During the construction process, it'll be necessary for Christ Community to worship in a temporary location for about a year. Over recent months, we've been praying for the Lord to open the door for a temporary location. It's been such an encouragement to see Him provide for us in amazing ways! Our temporary worship service location will be the Mount Sequoyah Retreat & Conference Center, specifically the Bailey Center Our nursery and children's ministry programming will be held in several classrooms surrounding the Bailey Center. We look forward to worshipping in this beautiful location!
Additionally, when CCC moves to Mount Sequoyah for our worship service location, we'll transition to a 10am worship service. We anticipate that the shift to morning worship will provide even more opportunities to form deep relationships with one another and to connect with our friends and neighbors in the city.
The first Sunday for the new worship service location and the new worship time will be Sunday, October 2nd. Please mark your calendars, and please pray for our church family as we approach this exciting transition. We pray that in this, and in all things, the Lord would strengthen and equip us to build His kingdom!
